1 Date of Notice This is the date from which you have thirty (30) days to file a protest with the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board.
2 Property Index Number Identifies your parcel.
3 Assessment Year The current year for your assessment protest.
4 Township The township in which you reside.
5 Assessed Value Before Board of Review Action These values are entered by the township assessor.
6 Final Assessed Value After Board of Review Action Prior to Equalization * See below.
7 Final Assessed Value After Board of Review Action Equalized * See below.
8 Instant Assessment A proration of the previous year's assessment that will only apply to the current year dated on this notice.
9 Reason for Change Brief explanation as to why the proposed change occurred.

* Township/County Equalization Factor: If an equalization factor (multiplier) was applied to your township, your assessment will be listed under the Board of Review equalization columns. The current assessed value is subject to equalization through multipliers by the State of Illinois, and the subtraction of homestead exemptions, before it is used to compute the tax bill. Equalization by the State of Illinois may be necessary to bring assessments to 33 1/3% of fair cash value, or to ensure uniformity within a county and between counties.
