  About Sunny Hill Nursing Home

Sunny Hill Nursing Home is a 300 bed, skilled and intermediate care facility, owned and operated by the government of Will County. Originating in 1955, operations began in the group of buildings directly south of the current facility. Growth and development has elevated Sunny Hill's leadership position in the field of long term care.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care possible to meet the physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs of each resident.

Sunny Hill is proud to have joined the journey that is changing the way resident care is provided in nursing homes across America. Known by various names throughout health care as "Culture Change", "Pioneer Movement" and "Resident Centered Care", it is the nontraditional approach to long-term care that empowers residents to make their own choices in an environment that is more homelike, life-affirming, satisfying, humane and meaningful. Our goals are to return the center of facility control to our residents, enhance our front-line staff's capacity to be responsive to residents needs, establishing a home and enhancing community involvement. Benefits? Happier and more satisfied residents!

Renovations to our facility have begun beginning with the Main Dining Room, Dugout (Resident Lounge area) and our skilled care unit, 3rd Avenue. The Will County Board and Public Building Commission of Will County are committed to a complete building renovation to be realized within the next three to five years.

The staff and volunteers of Sunny Hill Nursing Home are dedicated to providing the services so that each resident can maintain their comfort and individuality. Read on for more information or call for a personal tour at (815) 727-8710.
