Report quarterly on the entire financial operations of the county, including revenues, expenditures, encumbrances, and changes in fund balance, for each of the County’s operating funds.

Audit all bills against the county, and recommending their payment or rejection.

Audit documentation, records, and bases for the amounts billed to the county between the county, its vendors, and outside parties.

As the County’s only independently elected officer responsible for evaluating and reporting on County operations, the County Auditor conducts internal audits of the operating departments in County government. The Auditor evaluates how and where County money is spent; how County resources/assets are recorded, protected, and used; and how efficiently County departments are operating.

Audit the receipts of all county officers and departments presented for deposit with the county treasurer.

Audit the inventory of all real and personal property owned by the county under the control and management of the various officers and departments of the county.

Collect, analyze and preserve statistical and financial information with respect to the cost of operation of the county.

Maintain a file of all contracts entered into by the county board and all authorized county officers, for or on behalf of the county.

Review and approve all orders for supplies issued by the various county officers.
