| Mobile Workforce Center’s July schedule released - Thursday, June 13, 2013Workforce Services Division of Will County has announced the July schedule of its Mobile Workforce Center.
The mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including jobs4people.org and Illinois workNet. read more ... |

| U.S. Energy Department Recognizes Will County for National Leadership in the Better Buildings Challe - Wednesday, June 12, 2013Today the U.S. Department of Energy recognized Will County for its leadership in the first year of the Better Buildings Challenge. Launched by President Obama in December of 2011, the Better Buildings Challenge is national leadership initiative that calls on chief executive officers, university presidents, and state and local leaders to reduce their portfolio-wide energy use 20 percent by 2020 and then share the results of their energy reduction strategies. read more ... |
| Will County Ham Radio Operators service demonstration June 22-23 - Tuesday, June 11, 2013Even with the Internet, cell phones, email and other forms of modern communications, each year whole regions can be left in the dark. Tornadoes, fires, storms, ice and the occasional cutting of fiber optic cables can leave people without the means to communicate. In these cases, the one consistent service that has never failed has been amateur radio. These radio operators - often called "hams" - provide backup communications to the American Red Cross, FEMA and even for the International Space Station. On June 22 and 23, Will County area "hams" will join with thousands of other Amateur Radio operators from across the state to demonstrate their emergency capabilities. read more ... |
| 55,000 books pass through County’s annual event at Pilcher Park - Tuesday, June 11, 2013About 55,000 books, ranging from children’s tales and romances to textbooks and collections, were up for grabs at the annual book recycling and document destruction event June 7-9.

| Will County to offer spay/neuter program all June - Thursday, May 23, 2013Will County residents who have their pets spayed or neutered in June can get some help paying for it.

| Nearly 1,000 participate in County’s Earth Flag Award ceremony - Friday, May 10, 2013Nearly 1,000 students, teachers and parents filled the lower level of the Rialto Square Theatre Wednesday morning to celebrate as a record number of schools earned Will County Earth Flag Awards.

2012 State of the County
Good morning County Board Chairman Moustis, County Board members, elected officials and residents of Will County. Today, I will present my annual State of the County address, the 2013 budget and share with you examples of whyWill County remains a great place to live, work and raise a family. We know aboutthe issues that continue to challenge our economy. I am proud to say through strategic partnerships and planning, Will County is moving forward.
We are successful because we have made smart investments in our future. Will County is embracing technology to bring government to our residents and increase our transparency. Many of our departments and elected officials continue to work to improve their websites to make information and services available online to our residents. In my office, we have begun listing information about the boards and commissions on the county website to encourage transparency and public involvement. read more ... |
