JOB TITLE:
Highway Civil Engineer V
Bridge Inspection Engineer
JOB SUMMARY:
Accountable for NBIS, PONTIS, underwater and special bridge inspections as well as providing information to assist in the preparation of bridge condition reports and other bridge related inspections. Works with Project Engineer/Manager to evaluate consultants and review plans and proposals. Supervise engineering personnel and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work in design and construction. Serves as Resident Engineer (RE) for various road and bridge, drainage and similar projects. Performs other duties, as assigned or required.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited College or University, with ten (10) or more years of bridge inspections and highway design/construction experience. Registered as P.E. in Illinois. Certified as Bridge Inspection Engineer (Team Leader) having successfully taken the 10-day Comprehensive Bridge Inspection Training Course, Fracture Critical Inspection Course and Bridge Scour Course while also being familiar with the requirements of the NBIS and IDOT’s Structure Information and Procedure (SIP) Manual. Discipline in Transportation, Roadway and Bridge Construction, Construction Layout. Experience in FHWA & IDOT Policies and Procedures.
Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Microstation, GeoPak and Total Station.

JOB TITLE: Administrative Planning Assistant
DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Provide administrative support to the Development Review Division and assist/supervise staff as
needed. Assemble and distribute agenda packets. Take and prepare minutes and record votes.
Maintain zoning case and subdivision files from conceptual stage through approval. Ensures zoning
cases in subdivision files, and associated items, are thoroughly prepared, documented and
processed through entire process. Assist in general administrative duties as needed, including
telephone coverage. Day and evening work hours are required. Perform other duties as assigned
or required.
High School Diploma or GED equivalency; three (3) years of administrative support experience;
familiarity with personal computers, especially Microsoft Word; ability to type at the minimum rate of
sixty (60) words per minute; an exceptional telephone and interpersonal skills are required. Prior
experience with zoning matters, public hearings, plan commissions and zoning Board of appeals
preferred.

Job Title: Deputy County Clerk – Delinquent Tax Department

Salary: $22,065 to $51,057 (B5-F3)
Description of Duties:
Position entails preparing deeds, sales in error, balancing the daily receipts when required, processing delinquent tax payments, bookkeeping and processing bankruptcies. Other responsibilities include answering phones, posting subsequent taxes & extensions, take notices, checking delinquent and current taxes, signing plats, accepting and posting petition for deed charges, accepting budgets and levies and other related documents and updating all files, while maintaining office policy of friendly, accurate and efficient service. Front counter duties consists of vital records, recording notaries, certificate of authority, issue marriage licenses, voter registration, ownership of business and grace period/early/absentee voting. Assist in election preparation including logic and accuracy testing of election equipment. Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the County Clerk.
Special Skills or Qualifications:
• Excellent computer skills in the Windows & Microsoft Office environment
• General Accounting Skills, QuickBooks background and previous cash handling experience
• Office troubleshooting of network and PC issues a plus
• Ability to work well under pressure in a multi-tasking environment with high call volumes in peak periods
• Excellent proofing and analytical skills
• Outgoing personality with the ability to respond to public inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
• Self starter with the ability to contribute new and creative methods to improve efficiency
• Strong planning, organizing and communication skills
• Evening and weekend hours mandatory at election time
• Professional dress code required
• Ability to lift or carry up to 30 lbs. and stand for period of time as specific job requires
