Will County Liquor License Applicants

A liquor license is required for any person to sell or permit the sale, use or consumption of any alcoholic liquors in the county in territory subject to the control of the County Liquor Commission (unincorporated Will County).

In our continuing commitment to maintain accessibility, transparency and fiscal responsibility in the Will County Government; the Liquor Commission has provided applicants online access to the required applications and forms required to obtain a liquor license in Will County.

The Will County Liquor Control Ordinance is available for viewing or download.

To begin the process of applying for a liquor license, applicants should first review the Application Process page for a summary on the process.

Online Renewal

Recently, the Will County Code of Ordinances was updated to allow for renewal payment via credit card. Therefore, a new website has been created for online submission of both the Renewal Application, including uploading all supporting documents, and online payments via credit card. To begin the online renewal process, click HERE. Please note, renewal applications will be reviewed to determine if an establishment continues to meet the criteria for licensure in 2023.

The last day for acceptance of payment is Wednesday, NOVEMBER 30, 2022, no later than 4:00 p.m. Failure to timely apply for a renewal may result in the denial of your liquor license for 2023. If you have any questions, please contact Samantha Marcum at (815) 774-7480.

Renewal application and payment will be accepted via mail, in-person or online at the Will County Liquor Commissioner’s Office, 2nd floor of the Will County Office Building, 302 North Chicago Street, Joliet, Illinois 60432 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.. While the online renewal is preferred, a paper copy will still be accepted, and can be found below.
