Will County Joins First-Ever Regional Partnership for Economic Development

Yesterday, Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant joined regional leaders to announce the formation of the Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership. This first-of-its-kind collaboration among the seven counties of northeastern Illinois (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Will) and the City of Chicago aims to drive economic growth and advance equity across the region and its diverse communities.

Will County will be hosting technical assistance workshops for potential applicants to learn more about the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to support economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. The workshops will allow for potential applicants to receive more information about eligibility, ask questions about the application process, and troubleshoot issues.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and County Board leadership today announced the open application period for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to support economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. The County has dedicated $10 million of ARPA funding for an Economic Development Grant Program that addresses the negative impact of the pandemic and provides direct aid to impacted industries. 

Will County Celebrates Ribbon Cutting at New Renewable Natural Gas Plant

Plant is second of its kind in Illinois and first in Chicagoland

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant joined Will County Board Speaker Mimi Cowan and members at a ribbon cutting on Friday to celebrate the county’s new Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Plant in Wilmington. The plant will capture and repurpose methane gas emitted from the county-owned Prairie View Landfill, providing a significant source of non-tax revenue for Will County and a carbon-neutral alternative to conventional natural gas.
