The Illinois Emergency Management Agency has designated June as Pet Preparedness Month.

The Will County Office Building will be closed on Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day.

Will County officials announced it will begin accepting applications for up to at $10,000 grant from local small business owners impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic through its Small Business Grant Program. Businesses in highly impacted industries, such as restaurants, bars or taverns, events or performing arts venues, museums, and fitness centers will be given preference.

Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County, the area-renowned skilled care facility, has announced applications for admissions are being accepted from non-residents of the County. Known for its legacy of providing the highest level of healthcare service possible to the residents of the county since 1955, Sunny Hill is now available to anyone who meets the criteria for admission.

Reduces number of County Board members and provides for six majority-minority districts

At a special county board meeting Tuesday, Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant presented her proposed redistricting plan for a 21-district board, which reduces the size of the Will County Board by five members.

In its effort to secure funding through the issuance of bonds for the proposed renewable natural gas plant, Will County presented its finances to credit ratings agencies, S & P Global Ratings and Moody’s Investor Service and the response from both was positive news for the county.
