Anonym / Friday, October 1, 2021 / Categories: News, Press Releases, Home Page Will County Health Department partnering with local restaurants on Pop Up COVID-19 vaccination sites Earn free food with vaccinations In an effort to encourage residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccination and stop the spread of the deadly virus, the Will County Health Department is partnering with local restaurants to host pop up vaccination sites and give away free food to vaccine recipients. “We are grateful to Golden Corral Buffet & Grill and McDonald’s for the partnership in this important promotion to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations,” said Cindy Jackson, Will County Health Department vaccine coordinator. “This is a win-win situation. Receive a free life-saving COVID-19 vaccine and enjoy free food from these restaurants.” The pop up vaccination clinics will be offered at McDonald’s from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 13 Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 11:00-3:00 at the McDonald’s in Peotone, 701 Oriole Drive and on Thursday, Oct. 14 from 11:00-3:00 at the McDonald’s in Beecher, 901 Dixie Highway. On Vaccine recipients will receive a coupon good for one free sandwich at this location. The pop up vaccination clinic will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Golden Corral Buffet in Bolingbrook, 361 Brookview Lane, and on Monday, October 18 from 1:00-6:00 pm at the Golden Corral Buffet in Joliet, 2100 W. Jefferson Street. Vaccine recipients will receive a coupon good for one free meal that day at that location. “We are continuing our efforts to make the COVID-19 vaccine as readily available as possible for as many of our residents as possible,” Jackson said. “We understand vaccine hesitancy and have worked hard to eliminate any misinformation after vaccine safety. The COVID-19 vaccinations are safe and effective. We hope this additional incentive will encourage more people to get vaccinated.” To date, more than 55 percent of Will County’s population is fully vaccinated.
