It is the mission of the Human Resources Department to provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation and administration of sound policies and programs that ensure the successful recruitment, selection and retention of a diverse, well-qualified workforce. We also provide leadership in promoting harmonious relationships between organized labor and management.
We do this by providing exceptional Customer Service to elected officials, management, employees and job-seekers. The Human Resources Department makes use of outstanding programs, policies and procedures to achieve equitable treatment of employees and provide a resource for personal success while meeting the objectives of serving the people of Will County. - To provide the County and its citizens with competent, well-trained and well-informed employees.
- To maintain a classification system providing a consistent ranking of positions based on complexity of duties and level of responsibilities.
- To recruit and retain qualified employees in an effective and efficient manner, using all methods necessary to comply with applicable employment laws and policies of the Board of Commissioners.
- To communicate with new and existing employees current policies and procedures and changes to these policies as they occur.
