Will County offices will be closed on Feb. 13th in recognition of President Abraham Lincoln's birthday, which is an official holiday for both Will County and the State of Illinois.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant invites families to attend a Kids’ Fair on Monday, Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Troy Middle School, 5800 W. Theodore St., Plainfield, IL. This free event will feature interactive and educational activities by local organizations, businesses, and government agencies.

Will County has opened the application for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to support water, sewer, or broadband infrastructure projects. The County has dedicated $16 million for municipalities, townships, school districts, and both public and private water/special purpose districts.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant today announced the appointment of seven members to serve on the newly created Will County Community Mental Health Board. The appointments were approved by the Will County Board at their January 19 meeting.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is reminding residents that the county offers string light recycling throughout the year. Will County is also offering three special Joliet drop-off locations until January 31.

The voters of Will County approved by referenda the creation of a Community Mental Health Board in November, 2022. Ahead of the expected severe drop in temperatures, Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant reminds residents to utilize local warming centers if necessary. The Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has compiled a listing of warming centers provided by local governments on their website.

Will County will be hosting technical assistance workshops for potential applicants to learn more about the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to support economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. The workshops will allow for potential applicants to receive more information about eligibility, ask questions about the application process, and troubleshoot issues.

Will County leaders are calling attention to an increased focus on attracting green industries to the local economy. This follows several coordinated initiatives to attract the clean energy industry to Will County, including energy storage and transportation.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant today announced Will County’s participation in Operation Green Light, a nationwide initiative for buildings to be illuminated green to show support for veterans throughout November.
