Mobile Workforce Center’s October schedule announced - Sept. 19, 2014

The Mobile Workforce Center’s October schedule has been announced by the Workforce Services Division of Will County.

The mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including jobs4people.org and Illinois workNet.

Substantial Amendment to PY2010-2014 Consolidated Plan, FY2013 Action Plan

In accordance with the federal regulations at 24CFR, Part 91, the County of Will has prepared a draft Substantial Amendment to the Consolidated Plan and Program Year 2013 Action Plan.  The County hereby announces a 30-day display and public comment period to review the draft Substantial Amendment for the Home Investment Partnership (HOME) Grant Program.

Workforce Services’ Clothes Closet Needs Refilling

JOLIET – Ever look into your closet and bemoan that you’ve “got nothing to wear?” Imagine looking into an almost-empty closet and knowing there was nothing there to wear for a job interview or to go to work.  For some job seekers, that’s the reality. With help from those who have enough to share, there is a way to help them get back in the workforce confident about what they’re wearing.  Will County’s Workforce Services Division is looking for donations to restock its Clothes4Work clothing closet. 


County Crews Assisting with Storm Aftermath, Facilities Open

JOLIET —Will County Executive Larry Walsh said that all of the County’s facilities are open on Tuesday in the aftermath of Monday night’s storms and departments are working to keep residents safe.  In addition, for the first time, ComEd has opened its Joint Operations Center in the Will County Emergency Agency’s offices in order to better facilitate the electric company’s response to local outages.
