Bertino-Tarrant appoints local residents to Will County boards

WILL COUNTY – Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant appointed six people to County boards.

The appointments were confirmed by the Will County Board at its regular meeting on Thursday, Jan. 21.

Joliet Arsenal Development Authority

Roy Strong was reappointed to a four-year term as the Wilmington representative on the Joliet Arsenal Development Authority Board. Strong is Wilmington mayor. He is a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  His term will expire Jan. 1, 2025.

9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Board

Three people were reappointed to the 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Board. Reappointed to four-year terms were Todd Fonfara, Michael Hennessy and Meta Mueller.

Fonfara, of Lockport, is Deputy Chief of the Northwest Homer Fire District. In addition to multiple civic activities, he is president of a pension board and a member the Homer Glen Public Safety Board. He is also a member of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, Illinois Fire Inspectors Association, Illinois Professional Firefighters Association and Illinois Tactical Officers Association.

Hennessy is Executive Director of United Cerebral Palsy – Center for Disability Services in Joliet. The Joliet resident is a member of the Rotary Club.  Among his activities, he has been active in the Will County Center for Economic Development, United Way and Will County Emergency Food and Shelter. He also is a member of the Southwest Suburban Philanthropic Network and United Cerebral Palsy Administrators Council.

Meta Mueller is the County Board representative on the ETSB. Mueller is a member of the Wheatland Township Democrats and the Nature Foundation of Will County. The Aurora resident represents District 5 on the County Board.

The terms for all three will expire on Feb. 1, 2024.

Workforce Investment Board

Former County Board member Gloria Dollinger has been appointed to the Workforce Investment Board as a private sector employee. She previously served on WIB as a County Board member. She currently is Chief Development Officer for the Community Foundation of Will County.

Among her civic activities, she is on the Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center Auxiliary and a nutrition supervisor for the Joliet Park District. She has been involved with Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships, and is past president of the St. Joseph Foundation Board. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, Licensed Dietitian (IL) and National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Her term will expire Sept. 30. 2022.
