NOTICE OF PUBLIC DISPLAY AND COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE DRAFT 2020-2024 CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND PY2020 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2020 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 FOR WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS
The County intends to submit its 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and its PY 2020 Annual Action Plan in the amount of $2,115,135 for Community Development Block Grant funds and $1,254,075 for HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) CONSORTIUM funds, and $146,094 for ESG program. These amounts are based on published HUD allocations. The County Action Plan includes spending of HOME Consortium funds in Will County, the City of Joliet and Village of Bolingbrook. The 2020-24 Consolidated Plan and FY 2020 Annual Action Plan will be submitted to HUD on or before September 15, 2020.
In order to obtain the views of residents, public agencies, and other interested parties, the County will place the Draft 2020-24 Consolidated Plan and PY2020 Annual Action Plan on display for review and comment from July 24, 2020 through August 13, 2020. Written comments can be submitted by mail to the attention of Martha Sojka, Community Development Administrator at the address below or email to lugrants@willcoutylanduse.com with “public comment” as the subject line on or before 4:30 p.m. on August 13, 2020. These documents will be online and in print available for examination during normal business hours of operation beginning July 24, 2020 at the following location during normal operational hours:

The Plans will go before the Will County Board for consideration at its regularly scheduled board meeting August 20, 2020. A public hearing will be provided prior to the agenda item to allow for additional comments. All interested persons, groups, and organizations are encouraged to attend this public hearing and will be given the opportunity to comment. In accordance with Executive Order 2020-18 issued by Governor Pritzker, meetings will be held via videoconference /telephonically through the Webex Events platform. Will County Board Members will be attending meetings remotely and the general public is strongly encouraged to do the same.
