The Veterans Assistance Commission is a separate County Governmental Agency that is operated by and for Veterans. The Commission provides needed interim and/or emergency financial assistance paid exclusively to honorably discharged military Veterans and their families, who reside in Will County, for basic living expenses.
Local Veterans’ organizations are responsible for forming a VAC as is allowed under The Military Veterans Assistance Act, 330 ILCS 45.
The VACWC provides advocacy service to Veterans and their families in applying to the proper local, state or Federal agencies to procure benefits.
The VACWC works closely with ALL Veterans Organizations, utility companies, landlords, local, state and Federal agencies to ensure the rights and benefits to which each veteran is entitled has been granted.
The VACWC provides assistance with filing and managing claims to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. We provide guidance, support, and claim management from the initial submission to representation before the Board of Veterans Appeals.
