The mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including www.jobs4people.org and Illinois WorkNet.County Executive Larry Walsh encourages job seekers to take advantage of the service, which is offered at no cost to County residents. “Our Mobile Workforce Center brings excellent employment resources to our residents across the county,” Walsh said. “Anyone who is looking for a job or would like to improve their skills and find a new job should visit this center.” The Mobile Workforce Center will be at Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff, Bolingbrook, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mondays.On Tuesdays, the center will be in University Park at the Town Center Plaza, 90 Town Center Drive, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The center will be at the Monee Park District, 5218 W. Court St., Monee, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St., Plainfield, will host the Mobile Workforce Center from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.The center can be found at the Wilmington Public Library District, 201 S. Kankakee St., Wilmington, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Thursday. On Fridays, the center will be at Frankfort Public Library District, 21119 S. Pfeiffer Road, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and at Mokena Community Public Library, 11327 W. 195th St., Mokena, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Mobile Workforce Center will also broadcast the Job Search Workshops via Facebook Live. Illinois JobLink Workshop - Thurs, 3/19, 10:30 a.m. – Wilmington Public Library District This IJL Workshop will cover how to complete your registration on Illinois JobLink by creating/uploading a résumé and tips on how to get the most views from employers. We will discuss how to search for jobs on Illinois JobLink and how to complete your work search record. Master Your Job Search Workshop - Fri, 3/20, 2:00 p.m. – Mokena Community Public Library A review of basic job search techniques, including networking and how to use the Internet to conduct your job search. Microsoft PowerPoint - Thurs, 3/12, 2:00 p.m. – Wilmington Public Library District Learn the basics to advance your Microsoft skills and create a professional presentation. Networking Tools for Today’s Job Market Workshop - Mon, 3/23, 10:30 a.m. – Fountaindale Public Library District Learn the process of how relationships and contacts can assist you with your job search. Includes how to use social media to network effectively. Successful Interviewing Workshop - Thurs, 3/12, 10:00 a.m. – Wilmington Public Library District Learn how to prepare for a job interview so you will be confident and ready to make a positive impression.
