Public Notice: CDBG/HOME and Energy Advisory Board Meeting

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND MEETING AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC DISPLAY PERIOD  FOR THE 2016 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN AND A PROPOSED SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT TO THE FY 2015-2019 FIVE YEAR CONSOLIDATED PLAN FOR WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS

Notice is hereby given that Will County, IL will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 1:30pm in the:

WILL COUNTY BOARD ROOM 302 N. Chicago Street Joliet, IL 60432

The County Board room is accessible to persons with physical disabilities. If special arrangements need to be made to accommodate residents in order for them to participate in the public hearing, including a Spanish interpreter, please call Mr. Ronald Pullman, Director, Community Development Division, at (815) 774-7890, to make those arrangements by May 26, 2016.

The purpose of the public hearing is to present a Substantial Amendment to the County’s PY 2015-2019 Five Year Consolidated Plan for its housing and community development needs and to present the proposed funding for the PY 2016 Annual Action Plan for the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Programs funds.  The County intends to submit its PY 2016 Annual Action Plan in the amount of $1,934,948 for Community Development Block Grant funds and $884,693  for HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) CONSORTIUM funds, and $138,203 for its ESG program. These amounts are based on the latest HUD allocations. The Consolidated Plan Amendment and PY 2016 Annual Action Plan will be submitted to HUD on or before August 15, 2016.

In order to obtain the views and comments of residents, public agencies, and other interested parties, the County will place its PY 2015-2019 Five Year Consolidated Plan Amendment and PY 2016 Annual Action Plan on display from June 9 through July 11, 2016, at the following location between 8:30am-4:00pm:

These documents will be available for examination for a period of thirty (30) days beginning June 9, 2016. The plans will be submitted to the Will County Board at its regularly scheduled board meeting the morning of July 21, 2016, at which time these documents will be presented to the Will County Board for approval at its regular meeting.

All interested persons, groups, and organizations are encouraged to attend this public hearing and will be given the opportunity to present oral or written testimony concerning the proposed amendments to the PY 2015-2019 Five Year Consolidated Plan and PY 2016 Annual Action Plan.

Calm, cool, collected. The 145 highly trained professionals who operate Will County’s 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System (ETS) are always available to offer assistance to those in need. These everyday heroes are not the people who arrive on scene to render aid but they are responsible for answering 316,000 9-1-1 calls annually and ensuring the proper aid is directed to the correct location. Recently, the ETS honored telecommunicators for their outstanding service.
