The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is following the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to open COVID-19 booster vaccinations to all and recommending anyone 18 years and older get a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose six months after receiving their second Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, or two months after receiving the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The Will County Executive Office and the Will County Health Department today unveiled a new online search feature that makes it easier to find a vaccine in Will County while encouraging all residents over the age of 65 to get vaccinated as the State of Illinois announced it will advance to Phase 5 of Restore Illinois by April 12.

Calls to the Will County Health Department COVID-19 hotline are topping more than 800 per day, some days reaching 1,000 calls per day, which is overwhelming the current system as residents in the 1b category, 65+, are trying to schedule appointments for the vaccines.
