Will County to Host Low-Cost Pet Vaccine Clinic

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant invites Will County pet-owners to attend a low-cost pet vaccine clinic being hosted by Will County Animal Control and the Joliet-based non-profit SNIP Society. The clinic will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m at the Will County Animal Control offices located at 22452 Cherry Hill Road, Joliet, IL 60433.

“This clinic is open to all Will County residents in need of low-cost vaccinations and free microchips for their pets,” said County Executive Bertino-Tarrant. “Preventative care for your pets can help reduce veterinary costs in the future. This partnership between our Animal Control Department and SNIP Society is offering residents with a proactive opportunity to keep their pets healthy and safe.”

The event will provide low-cost vaccines and microchips to dogs and cats. The event is appointment-only and open to only Will County residents.

“We’re so happy to join Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant in providing low-cost pet vaccinations to the residents of Will Count,” said Kate Pasulka, President of the SNIP Society Board of Directors. “The event parallels our own goals and passions, helping ensure that every family should have access to affordable healthcare for their beloved pets.”

Only vaccinations and microchipping will take place at this event. Sick animals and those with other illnesses will not be treated during the event. All appointments during the event require an annual exam for $28, and then residents can choose from the following services offered for their dog or cat:

  • FREE – Microchipping
  • $20 – Deworm
  • $22 (each) – Rabies (1 year), Distemper, Lepto, FVRCP, Bordetella
  • $35 (each) – Heartworm Tests, Flu VX, Lyme VX
  • $40 – Rabies (3 year)
***Heartworm and Flea/Tick medication is also available.

Microchipping and vaccinating pets is highly recommended across the country, with rabies vaccines required for dogs and cats in the State of Illinois. Vaccinating pets gives them a layer of protection from contagious viruses and deadly diseases. Microchips are a permanent form of identification that greatly improves the chance animals will be returned home if they become lost or are stolen.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer free microchipping at this event as one of our goals is to reunite lost pets with their owners,” said Will County Animal Control Administrator, Anna Payton. “Thank you to SNIP Society for partnering with Will County Animal Control to offer these important vaccinations and microchips at a reduced rate for our residents. We are proud to work together to serve the animals in our community and the people who love them.”

To schedule a mandatory appointment, please use one of the following methods:

  • Call the SNIP Society at (815) 630-4411 or (347) 920-9189
  • For Spanish-speaking language assistance, please call (815) 740-4681
